Greetings!

Hey guys! If you're reading this then it means I've pestered you into reading my blog, and you've actually agreed to it. Thanks! That was very nice of you.
This blog is for my independent study this year. I've been reading books by non-American authors and then writing dialectic journals in response to them, but honestly? After a while that gets old. So, as a (hopefully) more interesting alternative, I'll be using this blog to write about whatever I read. Fun stuff! Please do comment on anything and everything that I post, because books are always more interesting when you can have a conversation about them. Some of the books I'll be reading this year are:
  • The Plague, by Albert Camus
  • The Periodic Table, by Primo Levi
  • Don Quixote, by Miguel de Cervantes
  • The Name of the Rose, by Umberto Eco
  • Independent People, by Halldor Laxness
  • If on a Winter’s Night a Traveler, by Italo Calvino
  • Beowulf, Seamus Heaney’s edition
  • The Third Policeman, by Flann O’Brien
  • Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, by Haruki Murakami
  • Selections from The Sagas of Icelanders
  • Les Misérables, by Victor Hugo
I've already finished the dialectic journals for a few of these, but due to my perpetual laziness I'm a bit behind, so there's lots to blog about. If you've read any of these or have recommendations as to what I should read next, let me know! With any luck, you'll enjoy reading this as much as I'll enjoy writing it. Thanks again!
